Role purpose

The candidate will manage the buying process in collaboration with retail network for yoox.com and will be responsible for the following activities:

Ket responsibilities

  • Researching and selecting new Brands to be added;
  • Developing supplier portfolio for product category;
  • Negotiating supply terms of sale, payment and delivery;
  • Selecting products based on sportswear and fashion trends, and based on sales trends of the previous season;
  • Defining guidelines and sharing information for proper presentation and maximization of product value on website (input for Visual Merchandising, handling information for correct cataloguing of, for example, sizes, pricing for different markets, banning, tech descriptions, etc.);
  • Monitoring the progress of sales and profitability of Brands;
  • Working with Operations in managing product arrival schedule.


The ideal candidate has a university degree, preferably in economics, and 3-5 years’ experience as a clothing buyer for a structured sportswear or fashion business or a multibrand department store. She or he has a sharp business sense and a strong passion for the world of sportswear, fashion, good aesthetic sense and a personal interest in new trends and sports activities. Since frequent travelling in Italy and occasional travel abroad are required the candidate must be flexible and available to spend most of the time travelling for business.

Other requirements include:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation competencies
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook;
  • Knowledge of either French or Spanish will be considered a plus.
  • Driving licence
