As part of the Localization team, this position works closely with the IT teams to facilitate the integration of TMS into the company’s tech ecosystem - primarily CMSs and PIM - in order to anticipate localization engineering and process issues with the aim of boosting automation and maximizing efficiency.



  • Configure translation tools (e.g. TMS, CAT) and undertake related bug fixing/troubleshooting
  • Manage and maintain TMS, optimize leverage and support glossary development
  • Facilitate pilot, assessment and integration of MT as appropriate
  • Assist with engineering best practices in localization production
  • Customize localization workflows and facilitate integration of localization tools with different source content repositories
  • Identify current globalization problem areas and collaborate with development teams to establish solutions
  • Review and anticipate potential globalization issues for new features, locales and technology
  • Define, teach, and develop globalization best practices (including relevant architecture design principles, implementation techniques, test strategies and scenarios, development processes and critical internationalization and localization milestones, localization tools and data structures, in conformance to internationalization standards)
  • Support with localization handoff files and hand back acceptance checks along with other post-delivery processes on delivered files
  • Support with the identification of localization test cases for QA
  • Provide documentation and training to Localization tools users, both internally and externally


Skills & Experiences


  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent
  • At least three years of experience in localization engineering and documentation production process
  • Track record of CAT tools and TMS selection, configuration and integration
  • Track record of TM management as well as CMS and DITA schema
  • Experience with MT
  • Understanding of locales, encodings, code pages, fonts, scripts, input methods, and character sets
  • Experience with internationalization and pseudo testing
  • Experience with localization tools and/or script development
  • Understanding of markup languages (e.g. XML, HTML, XLIFF), computer languages and scripting (e.g. VB, C, Java, Phyton, PHP), familiarity with Web Service Communication protocol (SOAP, REST) in order to extract the content for translation and preserve the non-translatable source code, convert files into a translation standard file type, and advise on TMS/CMS integration
  • Experience in DTP
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail


Familiarity with SDL WorldServer TMS and Trados Studio, CoreMedia Digital Experience Platform and adaptive Machine Translation systems will be considered an advantage.
