    We are now looking for a Senior Buyer to join our YOOX Buying team.

     

    Key Responsabilities

     

    The candidate will manage the buying process in collaboration with her/his buying team for yoox.com and will be responsible for the following activities:

    • Responsible for a seasonal buy budget, driven by the Buying Manager strategy for allocated Brands;
    • Selecting products based on fashion trends and according to sales results of the previous season;
    • Negotiating supply terms of sale, payment and delivery;
    • Monitoring the progress of sales and profitability of Brands;
    • Developing supplier portfolio for product category and new business opportunities;
    • Working with Back Office and Operations in managing product arrival schedule.
    • Defining guidelines and sharing information for proper presentation and maximization of product value on website (input for Visual Merchandising, handling information for correct cataloguing of, for example, sizes, pricing for different markets, banning, etc.);
    • Researching and selecting new Brands;

     

    The ideal candidate has a university degree, preferably in economics, and 5-7 years’ experience as a buyer for a structured fashion business or a multi-brand department store. She or he has a sharp business sense and a strong passion for the world of fashion, good aesthetic sense and knowledge of the new trends. Since frequent travelling is required, the candidate must be flexible and available to spend most of the time travelling for business. Off-price experience is not mandatory, but the candidate must demonstrate an enthusiasm and interest in the off-price business.

     

    Requirements:

    • Strong commercial experience of trading in a fast paced and reactive environment
    • Proven capability of creating positive impact on business through buying strategy
    • Good judgement and decision making skills with confidence in suggesting calculated risks and potentials
    • Extremely well-organised, methodical and efficient with the ability to self-motivate and drive initiative
    • Negotiation skills
    • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word
    • Perfectly speaking English
    • Knowledge of either French or Spanish is not mandatory, but will be highly valued
