    Data Solution Business Analyst

    Role Purpose:


    The Business Analyst will be a self-starting key contributing member of a fun, engaging highly performing data warehouse development team. You will be working in our offices just outside Bologna on exciting cutting edge BI technologies, supporting our luxury in season fashion brands. As in any business analysis discipline, the business analyst requires the fundamental communication and analytical competencies to be effective in liaising with both the stakeholders that provide requirement and the technical solution providers. You will use your analytical approach to translate high-level business critical requirements into meaningful analysis for development team in order to fulfil quality deliverables. Your manager will work with you to create a bespoke development plan to help you succeed and grow further in your career.


    Key Responsibilities:


    • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of management requirements and how it works in an agile environment.
    • Work directly with Product Owners, Data Solutions Tech Leads and other Analysts from other departments/teams.
    • Partner with the department’s Data Products team to elicit business requirements, thinking like the end user and translating these requests into simplified requirements in a format consumable by the development team.
    • Focus on meaningful aspects of backend processes that need to be measured to meet reporting requirements.
    • Perform gap analysis on platform changes of complex and heterogeneous source data systems.
    • Reduction of complex processes and data structures into simple, meaningful documentations that fit for stakeholder consumption.
    • Work with the QA team to define acceptance criteria and appropriate test scenarios.
    • Manage your own workload, across multiple projects, to ensure timely completion of your responsibilities.


    Skills & Experience


    • Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues.
    • Experience in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence concepts and architecture.
    • Knowledge of main business processes (e.g. inbound, outbound, finance) and standard, related KPIs and metrics.
    • Experience (managing or taking part) in analysis of business processes and related data source as part of Data Warehouse design.
    • Ability to provide high quality, logically structured documentation.
    • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) best practices including historical data tracking and reference data management.
    • Knowledge of T-SQL and/or PL/SQL language.
    • Data analysis techniques including basic statistics, data profiling and pivoting.
    • Ability to meet stringent deadlines.
    • Outstanding verbal and written skills, with the ability to build effective customer relationships.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk to and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a translator between parties.
    • Autonomous management of analysis tasks as part of wider teamwork.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Fluent in both English and Italian.
