Role purpose

The candidate will manage the buying process in collaboration with retail network for yoox.com and will be responsible for the following activities:

Ket responsibilities

  • Researching and selecting new Brands to be added;
  • Developing supplier portfolio for product category;
  • Negotiating supply terms of sale, payment and delivery;
  • Selecting products based on sportswear and fashion trends, and based on sales trends of the previous season;
  • Defining guidelines and sharing information for proper presentation and maximization of product value on website (input for Visual Merchandising, handling information for correct cataloguing of, for example, sizes, pricing for different markets, banning, tech descriptions, etc.);
  • Monitoring the progress of sales and profitability of Brands;
  • Working with Operations in managing product arrival schedule.

Key Responsabilities

  • Reporting to the Buyer, the Junior Buyer is responsible for the seasonal buy budget, driven by the Buying Manager strategy for allocated Brands;
  • You will negotiate terms, conditions and deliveries, to ensure consistent and flow of stock to maximize sales and margin, alongside managing and flexing OTB within Brands to hit the seasonal targets, but remaining opportunistic and driving the best possible return for the OTB;
  • You will be proactive in continuous product sourcing in an opportunistic environment, developing existing relationships and fostering new relationships, including a continuous travel to maintain and develop best position with vendors to insure we are the exclusive or first point of call for any off price;
  • Activity negotiation skills whilst being highly numerate with strong analytical skills;
  • You will analyse weekly reports and work with the Buying Team, Pricing, Back Office, Operations,  to review risks and maximise opportunities with up to date competitor knowledge within both off price and full price to ensure YOOX is the premier off-price destination;

Role Purpose:

 

We are now looking for a passionate Buyer to join our YOOX team.

The candidate will manage the buying process and will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Manage the procurement process, compilation of order confirmations and cataloging template, management of all criticality of processing, photography, and pricing, to the proper and quick setup online catalog;
  • Manage the input of sourcing supplies as shown in OTB and following the guidelines of the manager;
  • Define the sourcing’s mix and selection considering the brand's performance in previous seasons, the seasonal trend, the dates of product availability and the delivery dates, any shortcomings of assortment regarding the buying already performed or to be performed with other providers;
  • Negotiating commercial conditions (discounts, payments, deliveries, delays, sales markets ...) and contracts (new supply and renewals) and managing supplier relations;
  • Periodical analysis of the suppliers’ performance allocated in terms of sell-through, margins, pricing, and replenishment of continuous follow-up of deliveries;
  • Manage performance and competition analysis in order to optimize the buying and the conditions of purchase;
  • Prepare presentation and reports documents related to the buying and brand in order to optimize merchandising and product sales.
